ManiCURE For Cancer
ManiCURE for Cancer was inspired by Melanie Tinianov, who is a cancer survivor and also a parent of a student at Alexander Mackenzie High School. Not only she want to contribute and make a difference the students of the Cosmetics course at the school were inspired to help as well. So the students as well as their teacher, Diana Marchisello, Melanie Tinianov and the Canadian Cancer Society came together for this amazing event.
The students of the course set up manicure booths at the front foyer of the school and invited the students and teachers to get a manicure with the full donation going to the Cancer Society.
In addition the students have done some research into the toxic ingredients in cosmetics, nails products, and dangers of tanning beds. They realize that it is very important for teens to raise awareness in regards to these products and services since they are target market.
All the volunteers were very proud to support the cancer society and as a school community they hope to make a difference in someone's life.
Great job everyone!
