Mayor's Celebration of the Chinese New Year Press Confrence

The Town of Richmond Hill will be celebrating the Chinese New Year this month all across our community. Last year I was able to attend many amazing celebrations and I am looking forward to this year’s Year of the Tiger festivities. One of the apogees of this year's holiday season will be the “Mayor’s Celebration of the Chinese New Year,” scheduled for February 17, 2010.

In anticipation of this exciting event, Mayor Barrow invited SNAP and other media friends to join him at a press conference where he shared the Town's new year's resolution to bring “peace & prosperity to the community.” Always eager to celebrate, the Mayor dressed as the Chinese Emperor, joined by Councillor Cohen as God of Fortune, to bring greetings to the Chinese community and welcome in the Year of the Tiger.

The evening was full of special performances, light dinner and good friends.
