Helping Haiti
At Toronto Montessori Schools (TMS) efforts are well underway to raise money for Haiti. The TMS Bayview Campus (18 months to grade 6) had a Civvies Day and students and staff wore red and blue (the colours of Haiti’s flag) to show support for the people of Haiti. Donations for the Red Cross- Haiti Relief Fund were collected in classrooms. The Friends of the Community Club sold hot chocolate/tea last Friday and raised almost $4000 for the Red Cross-Haiti Relief. The TMS Elgin Mills Campus (grade 7 to 12). Students for Social Justice League held a fundraiser for the recent devastation in Haiti. The Social Justice League asked students to come wearing blue and red. Money raise is going to Free the Children to build a school. The campaign for Haiti will continue throughout the year with various fund raising initiatives.
